In this article we will explain the added benefits your business can receive if you take advantage of one of our WebConnect eCommerce solutions.
What is WebConnect?
Rexel’s WebConnect consists of two solutions PunchOut & Business System Integration; PunchOut, the first solution allows a customer’s business system to be configured to access the Rexel catalogue from WITHIN a requisition or product search function.
A customer’s business system will securely access the catalogue over the internet (known as “Punch Out”) and customer specific pricing is returned. All of the search and order functions included in our WebStore solution are available here.
What differentiates the “PunchOut” stage from the online WebStore solution is the ability for the returned information to be automatically inserted from the online “shopping basket” into a customer requisition or order, eliminating the need for re-keying. This method ensures the customer has a consistent process to order product and that these purchases are then placed using the company’s traditional method (fax, email, etc.)
Business System Integration
The other WebConnect trading solution allows the customer’s and seller’s business systems to communicate directly with each other via standards like OCI and cXML. This is most often achieved through the use of a 3rd party specialist communicating platform.
This method allows an electronic, people and paperless communication-path between company’s business systems that:
- Increases the speed of communication
- Lowers personnel handling costs and
- Increases efficiency in the trading relationship
